Case Study: Infill Opportunities in Los Angeles County |
To
draw attention to the everyday implementation challenges and
barriers to development that make implementation of smart
growth principles the exception and not the rule, the Partnership
initiated a pilot study looking at development challenges
and opportunities at four promising locations adjacent to
regional transit stations, including:
- The
North Hollywood Metro Red Line station,
- The
Covina Metrolink station,
- Hawthorne
Blvd near the Metro Green Line station,
- Wilshire
Corridor between Westlake/MacArthur Park and Vermont Red
Line stations.
These
case studies highlight local barriers and opportunities that
can be applied to many redevelopment scenarios. For a full
