Mobility 21 Coalition Announces Marnie O’Brien Primmer as Executive Director
LOS ANGELES, CA – The Mobility 21 Coalition announces, June 13, the appointment of Marnie O’Brien Primmer as Executive Director of the five county transportation coalition focused on developing transportation solutions for Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura counties. Primmer brings with her more than a decade of experience in public affairs and transportation/infrastructure planning and development.
“Marnie brings a distinctive level of expertise to a collaborative effort like Mobility 21,” said Mobility 21 Board Member and Metro CEO Roger Snoble. “As the Mobility 21 Coalition continues to advocate for transportation solutions in our region, Marnie’s transportation experience combined with her knowledge of the regional political landscape make her an ideal leader for advancing our mission.”
Previously serving as the Director of Marketing and Business Development for CALTROP Corporation, a leading construction management firm, Primmer brings extensive development, public affairs and community outreach experience to Mobility 21. A member of the Orange County Business Council Infrastructure Committee, OCMoves and the Mobility 21 planning committee, Primmer is actively engaged in key transpiration initiatives in the region. Primmer currently serves as President of the Orange County Chapter of the Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS) and has held key posts at other regional chapters for more than five years.
“In a region as vast and complex as Southern California, overcoming our transportation challenges will require prowess in planning, collaboration and perseverance,” said Mobility 21 Board Member and Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce President & CEO Gary Toebben. “These are the qualities that Marnie will bring to Mobility 21 and the work of our coalition.”
Prior to joining CALTROP, Primmer was Senior Manager II, Community Outreach for the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA), where she played a key role building public awareness for capital projects, including light rail trains, and served as a liaison to key agency stakeholders, elected officials and business leaders. Primmer also held marketing positions with PinnacleOne, Inc., a construction management firm, and the HNTB Companies, one of the most prominent architecture, engineering and planning firms in the nation.
Primmer received a bachelor’s in history from Amherst College and an MBA in management from the University of California, Irvine.
