The Sixth Annual Southern California Transportation Summit was held Monday, November 5, 2007, at the Ontario Convention Center. Mobility 21 hosted its first summit as a regional transportation advocacy group representing five Southern California counties. Dale E. Bonner, Secretary of the California Business, Transportation & Housing Authority, kicked off the sixth annual Mobility 21 Transportation Summit together with elected officials and business, transportation and community leaders representing the region's 17 million residents. Eric Haley, Executive Director of the Riverside Transportation Commission; Curt Pringle, Mayor of the City of Anaheim, and Larry Sharp, Chairman of the Inland Empire Transportation Coalition, were presented with awards for improving mobility through vision and leadership in their various regions.

The Fifth Annual Mobility 21 Regional Transportation Summit agenda focused on how to solve Southern California's mobility challenges with the potential for robust funding from state and federal sources, while also embracing new technologies and public-private partnerships. The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority and the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Automobile Club of Southern California, hosted the Mobility 21 transportation summit at the Sheraton Universal City on Oct. 30, 2006.

Fourth Annual 2005

Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa calls for more funding and innovative ideas to overcome the region's crushing traffic congestion.

Transportation and the economy, quality of life, homeland security and creative financing are topics of innovative breakout sessions.


Third Annual 2004

More than 500 government, business, labor and community leaders approved recommendations aimed at improving the region's transportation infrastructure.

The summit also was the occasion for kicking off a $9 billion plan to fund LA County's Top Ten Traffic Busters. The list includes expansion of light rail lines, more carpool lanes, street and highway and freight corridor improvements.

2002 Mobility 21:
LA County Moving Together Transportation Summit

The Los Angeles Area Chamber and the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority joined together to present the first county-wide transportation summit, Mobility 21: LA County Moving Together. The summit brought together 500 elected officials, transportation providers, business, labor and community leaders to develop practical solutions to the county's building relationships among area leaders.
